The main differences in embranchment of nature and man in Medieval literature
To begin with, it`s worth to say that the main differences in embranchement of nature and man in Medieval literature started when Roman empire fell down in 5th century. The majority of people of that time were full of barbarism, they could do all that they wanted without thinking about the consequences.
However, time passed and the world waited for developing and changes. Subsequently, in literature started to develop three styles and what is more – at the same time. There were: 1) the literature of traditions which were connected with pagans; 2) the state literature and the third was the literature of knights. Nowadays, historians distinguish the top 10 knights in Medieval literature, they are: King Arthur, Richard the Lionheart, El Cid, Alexander Nevsky, Edward the Black Prince, William Wallace, Henry ‘Hotspur’ Percy, Bertrand du Guesclin, John Hawkwood, William Marshal, 1st Earl of Pembroke.
Perhaps we should also point out the fact that literature returned to the values that characterized in the ancient times. The most common argument in support of this fact this is the citation from the “Canterbury tales” by Geoffrey Chauser: “ a knight, a reputable man, he also prized trustworthiness, liberality, fame, and courteousness.” It is really brilliant example of brave human values, because they respected each other, his nation and family. “Grain ruled the Danes a long time after his father’s death, fierce in battle, who rules until he was old” (“Beowulf”).
To draw the conclusion, one can say that in Medieval literature there are a lot of examples of perfect and brave human values. So it’s up to everybody to decide whether to take such persons as an example for following or not.
