Why Is Stephen Hawking So Famous?

sciences-essay-sampleWhat makes a remarkable person? Is it the inventions that he or she brings out to the world? Is it being unusual or disabled? Or mysterious coincidences in a birth date? Steven Hawking can be subsumed to all of mentioned above.
He states that “The notion of ‘fame’, is a curious thing. In my mind, I am a scientist who has been lucky to work on some of the fundamental mysteries of our universe. Sometimes I wonder if I am as famous for my wheelchair and disabilities, as I am for my discoveries.”
Steven Hawking was born in 1942, exactly 300 years after the death of Galileo. Some say the stars are to blame for conceding vivid date coincidences.
During his childhood he was always into learning new things. Craving for knowledge was laudable as Steven was born in the family of intellectuals. Raised with this spirit, he liked to win in everything and know subjects to their full. He would spend a lot of time looking at the sky-his passion-and wandering where the eternity came to an end. Years after Steven would be familiar with it  as like it is best friend.
Hawking started his education at the University College, Oxford, getting a degree in natural sciences specializing in physics. Undoubtedly he was a brilliant student not paying much attention to studying and still being first at everything.

sciences-essay-sampleOne day Steven Hawking was diagnosed with Amyotrophical Lateral Sclerosis. Doctors gave him 2 to 3 years to live, but they turned out to be wrong: Steven started a relationship and found something to live for. This desire keeps him alive till the present days even though he is only able to control cheek muscle and uses speech synthesizer for communication. Due to his words, “I have lived over two thirds of my life with the threat of death hanging over me. Every new day could be my last, I have developed a desire to make the most of each and every minute”.
After that a miraculously alive physicist went hard on his researches and the results were striking: “his scientific works include a collaboration with Roger Penrose on gravitational singularity theorems in the framework of general relativity, and the theoretical prediction that black holes emit radiation, often called Hawking radiation. Hawking was the first to set forth a cosmology explained by a union of the general theory of relativity and quantum mechanics. He is a vigorous supporter of the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics”. Not a single person of scientific world is surprised that Hawking has received numerous awards and honours.

Steven is an example of how a person can reach the top even though having  physical disability and feeling trapped inside his body which I personally find very motivative.
So why is Steven Hawkings so famous?
I would say that the reason is his brilliant  mind-set that he has been keeping busy during his whole life, his calling for physics and craving for life to make new discoveries and serve for the humankind. One shouldn’t forget about mysterious date of birth coincidence that also brings Steven quite a fame, which he has a great deal of anyways.
